Potential audience sizing
This article provides information on the new Potential Audience Sizing feature.
Potential audience sizing enables marketers to quickly estimate the size of audiences for activation. Knowing the potential audience impact lets you identify high-impact marketing opportunities in real-time and make informed decisions with data-backed confidence.
Potential Audience Sizing is in Early Access and is only available to select customers. If you are interested in trying this feature, contact your Tealium Support representative.
How it works
Potential size is the number of existing visitor profiles that match the specified audience conditions. During audience creation, potential audience size is displayed on the New Audience screen, shown below. As you add conditions, the potential audience size is updated.
For existing audiences, the actual audience size is shown in the Size column of the Audiences screen. This is the current size of the audience. Audience size dynamically changes based on visitor behavior and is continuously updated as real-time customer events are processed and visitors join or leave audiences.
Limitations
Potential audience sizing is not available when an audience is built with the following attributes:
- Visit attributes - Visit attributes are transitory and do not persist after the visitor’s session ends.
- Complex attributes - Timeline, tally, and funnel attributes are too complex to rquery for estimates.
- Unsaved and unpublished attributes - Attribute values are only created, enriched, and saved to a visitor profile when the attribute configuration is saved and published. Until the save and publish occurs, there are no values to be queried to return a potential audience size.
