Single event visitor
This article explains how Tealium handles single event visitors.
How it works
A single event visitor occurs when Tealium receives a real-time event from a new visitor to your website or mobile app without any further interaction.
A single event visitor meets all of the following conditions:
- Only 1 event received
Only one event received by the end of the first visit. - No visitor stitching
The single event does not result in visitor stitching. - No badges assigned
No badges were assigned during the visit. - Not file import
The event is not from a file import.
AudienceStream
Single event visitors are not persisted in AudienceStream, are not passed to AudienceStore, and are not stored in AudienceDB. If a single event visitor returns for a new session, it will be treated as a new visitor in AudienceStream.
EventStore and EventDB
Single event visitors are not persisted, so EventStore and EventDB will contain records that do not have a matching record in AudienceStore and AudienceDB.
Visit length
Even though the default session length for a visit is 30 minutes, a single event visit will be ended after 10 minutes if a second event has not occurred. This shortened visit length occurs regardless if it is the first visit. For more information, see Session length.
